Hey folks! Saladin here, sharing a little about my latest comic, a big new project for Endeavor Content!
People have always told tales of beings that exist between the human and the otherworldly – elves, angels, djinn. Vampires. This is the story of one such creature named DANTE, an elegant being of melancholy and music.
It’s the story of how his all-too human failings gave birth to the vicious DRAC, who became the world’s most legendary monster.
And it’s the story of a relentless woman named VAN, who will stop at nothing to hunt down her daughter’s killer.
Recently Dave Acosta and I took a long draw of the blood of Dracula with our Ottoman-era graphic novel DRAGON. Now I'm coming at the mythos from a very different angle, telling a modern Dracula story alongside an astonishingly talented team of creators!
DRAC: SON OF DANTE is a new webcomic with a story devised by myself, Oscar nominee Shaka King (JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH), and Oscar winner Travon Free (TWO DISTANT STRANGERS). A rotating cast of brilliant artists led by the inimitable Ray-Anthony Height (STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA) has brought the story to visual life with amazing range, and the series features pulse-pounding music --yes, music!-- by Detroit legend Quelle Chris.
The level of collaboration alone has made this a delightfully different project to work on.* You all are going to love the results — and you can check them out right now! A bunch of issues of DRAC: SON OF DANTE are live already and free to read on Tapas -- so go get a taste of blood!
[*It’s also made it very hard to observe my usual rigor in crediting artists, thus the lack of attributions on this page. Please see credits for individual issues, which are exhaustive.]
